Marc-Inti Maennel Saavedra
Coming from a Bolivian-German background, Marc-Inti grew up in Frankfurt, Germany, and showed a keen interest in music from the early age of nine when he first started studying the piano. A few years later Marc took up the bass guitar whilst finding a vacant spot in a local high school band – this was the beginning of his deep love with the bass guitar rapidly becoming his main instrument.
Travel beckoned and Marc moved to the UK. This period of his life exposed him to the wonderful joys of Jazz music and just after returning to Germany he teamed up with American singer April King and ace German blues guitarist Matthias Baumgardt where he found himself touring on the road for the first time.
Shortly after he graduated from the Rhineland-Palantinate University of Music, Marc headed out to the United States for some intense studying with the great Matthew Garrison and Jeff Andrews in New York City.
Marc’s playing has developed into a very unique open minded style due to his experience in performing a wide range of music genres ranging from Jazz to Rock, Soul, Latin, Blues, Flamenco, Carnatic, Gnaoua, West African and Hip Hop.
